Summary

The Novartis Compound Management and Engineering (CME) Group at Novartis is mandated with the stewardship of the BR compound collection. The group supports screening as well as lead optimization projects throughout the BR drug discovery network by providing flexible access to a sample collection of > 1.5 Mio compounds
CME is seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated candidate to join the High Throughput Liquid Handling Team.

Start date: February 2026
Durations: 12 months

About the Role

Your responsibilities:

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensure the processing of high throughput plating requests and the production of high-quality compounds plates
  • Ensure the daily maintenance of diverse robotic systems, including troubleshooting and quality control
  • Interest in operating large automated storage systems (tube and plate stores)
  • Supporting global shipping logistics

We are looking for an independent and scientifically curious recent graduate with a Master’s degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Engineering, or related scientific discipline. Since this is a temporary position for up to one year, it could be suited for a candidate planning to bridge between MSc and further career steps.

What you’ll bring to the role:

  • Recent Master’s graduate in science
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English (proficiency in German and/or French is considered a strong asset)
  • Ability to thrive in a highly collaborative and dynamic international team
  • High degree of independence
  • Strong quality and customer focus with a clear sense of accountability
